Glowing Review of Voice and Harp Concert

In August, Rachel gave a voice and harp recital with duo partner Rory McCleery (counter-tenor) in St. Bartholomew's Church, Rodhuish. The concert sold-out and raised over £900 for the church's restoration fund.

A rip roaring Rodhuish welcome greeted Rachel and Rory as they opened their concert in the Chapel on 24th August with An Evening Hymn by Purcell. Rory's beautiful counter-tenor swept pure and true through his audience with the exquisite 'Flow my Tears' by Dowland and on through an amazing programme, daring and innovative. Just when I thought things couldn't possibly get any better, he gracefully handed us over to Rachel who is like musical quick silver. Her harp playing was enchanting in the candlelight of the chapel and it is easy to see why she is in demand at Buckingham Palace. Beautiful, generous and incredibly talented, we are lucky to have such good friends at St. Bartholomew's. A packed house showed their appreciation and clearly did not want to let these young people go.
